Swedish lyric-dramatic soprano Sabina Bisholt’s career combines opera across Scandinavia with concert work and recordings of Swedish vocal music. In the 2025/26 season, she made her role debut as Elsa in Lohengrin at Malmö Opera and sang Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Den Jyske Opera. These engagements followed her debut as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin at Wermland Opera in February 2025.
Her earlier roles include Nedda in Pagliacci at Åbo Svenska Teater and her first Donna Anna at Opera Warberg, both in 2022. At the Royal Swedish Opera, Ms. Bisholt has sung Mimì in La bohème and Micaëla in Carmen. She also appeared as Micaëla in Peter Brook’s La tragédie de Carmen at Wermland Opera, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at Opera på Skäret and Nannetta in Falstaff at Malmö Opera. Further work includes the Copenhagen Opera Festival. She made her professional debut as Marguerite in Faust at Norrlandsoperan in 2017.
Swedish vocal music is central to Ms. Bisholt’s recordings. Hugo Alfvén’s Complete Orchestral Songs appeared in 2025, following Swedish Songs & Operatic Scenes in 2024, both with the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra under Patrik Ringborg. Earlier releases include Laura Netzel – Chamber Portrait with Simon Crawford-Phillips and Malin Broman in 2021 and her first solo album, Couples in Love and Music, with Bengt-Åke Lundin in 2020. She made her recording debut in 2017 with Bengt Forsberg for dB Productions, performing previously unrecorded songs by Amanda Maier-Röntgen.
In concert, Ms. Bisholt sang Schubert’s Mass in G major with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Malin Broman at Berwaldhallen in 2021. In 2020, she appeared in Dallapiccola’s Partita with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda at Helsinki Music Centre. Her performances at Stockholm Concert Hall include Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Laudate Dominum and Lars-Erik Larsson’s God in Disguise. Her concert repertoire also encompasses Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle.
In 2020, Ms. Bisholt received the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s National Scholarship and the Wettergren Foundation Scholarship and was nominated for the Soloist Prize. She graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm in 2016, where she received the Christina Nilsson Scholarship.
