Helena Sturm

Helena Sturm is Principal Coordinator for Dance and Musical Theatre at Kanttila Management, responsible for the development, representation, and administrative direction of the agency’s dance and musical theatre rosters.

Ms. Sturm brings extensive experience as a stage performer, choreographer, dance dramaturg, and arts administrator. Born in Augsburg, she received her diploma in Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Jazz Dance from the Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in 2015 and completed her studies in Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna in 2022.

From 2023 to 2026, Ms. Sturm led the dramaturgy office for Ballett Dortmund and NRW Juniorballett, working across artistic planning, dramaturgical development, production processes, and institutional coordination. Since the 2026/27 season, she has continued her collaboration with Theater Dortmund as a guest dramaturg, alongside her work as a choreographer and freelance dance dramaturg.

Her artistic career includes engagements as a dancer and stage performer in opera, operetta, musical theatre, and revue at houses and festivals including Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Bayerische Staatsoper, Theater Heidelberg, Theater Münster, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Oper Köln, Bregenzer Festspiele, and the Bayreuth Festival. She has also worked as a dance captain and assistant choreographer at Landestheater Linz and Staatstheater Augsburg, among others, on productions including La Traviata, Die lustige Witwe, Der Graf von Luxemburg, Kiss Me, Kate!, Evita, Jekyll & Hyde, Cabaret, and Der Mann von La Mancha.

In addition to her stage work, Ms. Sturm has held dramaturgical, choreographic, organisational, and pedagogical positions for stage and video projects, international competitions, and programmes supporting young dancers. A central focus of her work lies at the intersection of dramaturgy and choreography, where she supports artistic processes conceptually, creatively, and organisationally.
