Further parts include Archiereios in Szymanowski’s Król Roger, Korosof in Joseph Beer’s Die polnische Hochzeit, and Sparafucile and Monterone in Rigoletto.

Contemporary opera forms another strand of his stage work. In 2024, Mr. Krebs sang the Professor in the German premiere of Péter Eötvös’s Valuschka in Regensburg. He has also appeared as Charrington in Lorin Maazel’s 1984 and in Manuela Kerer’s Innen at the Munich Biennale. At the Skive Opera Festival, he created Polonius in the world premiere of Jeppe Nørgaard Jacobsen’s Hamlet, alongside an appearance as Don Basilio.

Before moving to Regensburg, Mr. Krebs spent three seasons at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater in Flensburg, where he sang Sparafucile and Masetto. An earlier ensemble engagement at the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin included Rocco and the Landgrave. His guest work includes Daland in Der fliegende Holländer at the Thüringer Schlossfestspiele and Opera på Skäret. He has sung Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, at Opera på Skäret and at Salzburg’s Opera im Berg Festival. Further engagements include the Hermit in Der Freischütz at Theater Vorpommern Stralsund/Greifswald and Nabucco at Theater Münster.

Concert appearances have taken Mr. Krebs to Liechtenstein, Guernsey and Sweden, including a gala marking Örebro’s 750th anniversary. His artistic collaborators include directors Toni Burkhardt, Frank Hilbrich and Bruno Berger-Gorski, and conductors Axel Kober, Markus L. Frank and Fabrizio Ventura.

Mr. Krebs won first prize and the audience prize at the Grandi Voci Competition in Amerang in 2018. His distinctions also include third prize at the 10th Vox Artis Competition in Sibiu and a special prize at the 2017 Armel Opera Festival in Budapest for his portrayal of Sarastro.

Mr. Krebs trained at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz, subsequently working with Kurt Moll and Harald Stamm and attending Edda Moser’s masterclasses at the Münchner Singschul’. He maintains a longstanding artistic collaboration with vocal coach David L. Jones in New York.
