Born in Hamburg in 1999, Clarissa Maria Undritz completed her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and her Master’s degree in Opera at the Berlin University of the Arts, studying with Prof. Deborah York. Her musical education began with the Hamburger Alsterspatzen children’s choir at Hamburg State Opera.

Beginning with the 2026/27 season, Ms. Undritz joins the ensemble of the Staatstheater Darmstadt, where her roles include Adele in Die Fledermaus, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte and Niece in Peter Grimes. From 2024 to 2026, she was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Her engagements there included Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Sandmännchen and Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Berta in Ein Fall für Figaro, a Noble Orphan in Der Rosenkavalier, a Fifteen-Year-Old in Lulu, Schwertleite in Ritter Eisenfraß and Lully the Fairy in Armide oder Schwein gehabt. In 2026, she also appeared as Serpetta in Brigitte Fassbaender’s production of Mozart’s La finta giardiniera.

Further engagements include Franziska Cagliari in Johann Strauss’s Wiener Blut with the Sommeroperette Heldritt in 2026 and Second Soprano in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen at the Dorf macht Oper festival in Klein Leppin in 2024. During her studies, Ms. Undritz performed Le Feu, La Princesse and Le Rossignol in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2023 and the title role in Handel’s Acis and Galatea at Dorf macht Oper in 2022. Earlier appearances included Thea and Stimme 1 in Frühling Erwachen at the Berlin University of the Arts, Ariadne and ensemble roles in Opera Minutes at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, and Julia in Britten’s Der kleine Schornsteinfeger with Opera Piccola at Hamburg State Opera.

Ms. Undritz was a finalist in the 2024 Bundeswettbewerb Gesang and a prizewinner of the 2024 International Singing Competition of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. She has been a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V. since 2019 and received a First Federal Prize at Jugend musiziert in 2017.
